Go-bag builder

Make a packing list for each person and pet in your home. Tick things off as you go and print the lists to keep with the bags.

Build your go-bags

One list per person. Ticks are saved in this browser only, nothing is sent anywhere.

A go-bag, or grab bag, holds what one person needs to leave home quickly and cope for about 3 days: water and a way to purify more, high-energy food, a warm layer and a waterproof, a torch, a power bank, cash, copies of ID, medicines and a first aid kit. Pack one bag per person and one for each pet.

Questions people ask

What should be in a grab bag in the UK?

Water, purification tablets or a filter, 3 days of food that needs no cooking, warm and waterproof layers, a torch, a power bank, cash, copies of ID, medicines, a first aid kit, a whistle and a paper map.

Does every person need their own go-bag?

Yes. Each person should carry their own water, food and layers. Children carry a lighter bag and adults carry shared items like the first aid kit.

Where are my ticks saved?

Only in this browser on this device. Nothing is sent to us. Clearing your browser data clears the lists, so print a copy to keep with the bags.

What goes in a go-bag for a pet?

Three days of food, water and a bowl, a lead or carrier, medicines, a copy of vaccination records and the microchip number, and a recent photo in case you get separated.
